Now is Not the Time to be Political

Prayers for Apalachee High School in Georgia and all involved. This hit close to home.

As I was watching the news, a political figure took advantage of the event and turned it into a commercial for an election ad. I was burned to the core for overlooking the tragic happenings and ran with the “gun control” political platform.

Observing the unfolding events days later, my mother’s heart yearns to hold the many students and staff members in my arms. I once was a teacher who shielded and regarded the students as my own. I continue to pray, which is all I can do for the community. I pray that the school can one day heal.

I am a new retiree due to health issues. I am a former educator who in return was a student to the many personalities in my classroom. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am building one stick at a time in my life as I adjust/accept my current season of being a homemaker.
