Season of Turning 50

I celebrated my 50th birthday at the beginning of 2022. Ecclesiastes 3 is a metaphorical chapter of my life:

1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 3 (KJV)

We all have endured the seasons of mountains and valleys. But it is how we engaged in these seasons that matters.

I have memories of the low and high times in my 50 years of living on this earth; but I also can recall the news that seemed unreachable in the early years- the world. Now that I am older and have understanding of the abstract world news, I can emotionally grieve for the losses and celebrate the victories for those that are only miles away. At this very moment, I encourage that we earnestly pray to our Heavenly father. We need to put our humble faith and trust in His word to allow His guidance reign over us.

No words can express today’s turmoil.

I watched one of my favorite YouTube channels this morning, “Simply R Home.” Amy praises God continuously on her channel no matter what season she is facing. I am going to quote her two verses that she read from her Bible during today’s post.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

John 16:33 KJV

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;….

Romans 12:12 KJV

These verses left a calmness that there is hope in today’s tribulation. Seek God in all seasons. No one is too young or old to ask God for His love and forgiveness. God will act in His timing. We have to “Trust and Obey” God.

May you find comfort in the New Testament verses as I have. May God touch and heal you and your family in the mountain and valley seasons.

Blessings- Jan

I am a new retiree due to health issues. I am a former educator who in return was a student to the many personalities in my classroom. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I am building one stick at a time in my life as I adjust/accept my current season of being a homemaker.
