He Is Knocking!

Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him and will sup with him , and he with me.

Revelation 3:20 KJV

Easter is tomorrow. The day set aside to celebrate Jesus rising from the tomb after three days- a miracle in itself.

We know the story. We have seen different Hollywood versions over the years. We may have a favorite or the box-office hit that we watch every year. Some may plant a Rescurrection Garden and display it next to the bunnies on the entrance table.

The way to celebrate Easter is by our choice, but I want a minute and focus on the word “knocking”. Jesus is knocking at our hearts. He is calling us:

Please forgive me

I need your grace to make it through

All I have is you, I’m at your mercy

Lord, I’ll serve you

Until my dying day

Help others find the way

At your mercy, please forgive me

I can’t believe the God of earth and glory

Would take the time to care for one like me

But I read in the Bible that old story

How he plead for my forgiveness while he was dying

on a tree

Gerald D. Crabb

I will heed the knock and open the door for Jesus to enter. Please forgive me for where I have failed you. I am here Lord to serve you.
